Ever wondered why there are so many fonts and why some people are very picky about them?

Communication Arts recently published an article explaining (in as much detail as you could ever ask for) the importance of typography, and why Apple’s aesthetic image is miles above, say, Kmart’s. It’s a bit of a long read, but makes some great suggestions to boost your corporate identity:

  • Be consistent
  • Choose a simple clean font
  • Pay attention to details

Our favorite part of the article is the infographic on the first page that shows how subtle differences in type can affect how people read.

Who knew!? You can send a message in a bottle through the mail. We were lucky enough to design the insert piece for this wedding reception invitation. The best part about this? It smells like coconuts on the beach when you open it! Congrats Dave & thanks for the opportunity!

Welcome Jake!

I ran into this pic the other day & thought I’d share. I hope you find humor in it, even if you’re not a designer! Found at Nathan Pyle’s blog.

Adobe CS5 came out last month & we can’t wait to get a copy of it & try some of the new features. One of the most talked about features is ‘content aware fill’ in photoshop. We think this is a feature that is super neat & can already think of many times when this would have come in handy & will certainly come in handy on future projects. Check out this video:

We’re also excited about the features in Illustrator, including:

  • Perspective tools
  • Brush width control
  • Shape builder tool
  • Drawing inside
  • Bristle brushes

We finally made time between all of our clients to get our website up! We’ve got a logo along with a ‘look & feel’, business cards & a facebook page. These constitute our new identity & we’re proud to have one! Thanks to everyone supporting us – spouses, family, friends, & our web developers.

Of course we wouldn’t even be here without our wonderful clients, so many thanks to:
